Emily was happy as she was about to sit on her best spot in her favourite cafe. That seat had a special place in her heart. For a long time, that place was belonged to her to let people know of her big news, and she had a big news today.
She received a job offer as a director, which she was waiting for a long time. It was a dream come true for Emily. She was going to talk with her best friend, Morgan. But she had no idea of what was going to happen.
As she was approaching to the table, her phone ranged. It was Morgan and she was letting her know that she was going to be slightly late and she also said that Emily should save their spot.
As Emily smiled, and then as she was about to sit down, someone slammed into her.
As Emily turned back, “Execuse me, I need those seats!” a woman said. The woman had two children behind her, who were looking even meaner than the woman.
“I’m sorry,” Emily said, “I’m waiting for my friend.”
“I don’t care!” the woman responded. “My children are hungry and we are sitting down!”
“But I got the table first.” Emily said, before the woman stopped her. “I said we are taking the table!”
Emily was a calm girl, it was hard for her to confront people or have conflict with them. But that woman deserved more than that. “No, I got here first and I’m not moving!” she responded.
“Do you know who I am!”
“Mom, we are hungry!”
“See! My children are hungry! Just move!”
“There are other empty tables you can sit. I’m not taking the last table you can sit. I was already here when you tried to claim my seat.”
As the woman started to walk towards Emily, a deep voice stopped her. “What is happening?”
Then Emily saw Uncle Tommy. It was a relief for Emily. “Uncle Tommy, I was trying to tell the lady that I got here first, and she was trying to claim my seat no matter what.”
Then Tommy turned to the woman, “Ma’am, please lower your voice and stop disturbing other customers.”
“There are many other tables you can find in the cafe, please go on.”
“Who are you? Do you know who I am? You will lose your job, I know the owners of this place!”
“Ma’am I don’t know who you are, but I’m the owner of the cafe and I need you to leave my place immediately!”
