Olivia was sitting with her 12-year-old daughter Mia. While she was reading her book, she noticed the onyx earrings her daughter had on her ears. She was shocked to her heart.
These earrings were family heirloom. How could Mia had them since they were lost long ago. Her heart skipped a beat. A day later she asked her daughter where she found them.
Mia stated that her friend from school, Daisy gave the earrings to her as a gift. Mia was a talkative child, and she never mentioned of Daisy before. There was something in it but Olivia was surely would find out.
How could a girl named Daisy had her family heirloom earrings. The last time she saw these earrings, when the time Amelia, her sister, took them before she ran away from home.
It has been years since she last saw her sister. Amelia loved a guy but their family didn’t accept the man who Amelia was in love. Instead of her family, Amelia chose love and ran away with the man. She took the earrings too.
Olivia remembered the moment when her sister took the rings. Amelia hesitated, while Olivia was watching her from her bed. But surely, Amelia wanted to carry a piece from her family so she took them.
On the next day, Olivia went to school with Mia. She wanted to see Daisy. At the school yard, there Olivia saw Daisy. She was the carbon copy of Amelia, her sister. Olivia’s heart ached with the sight. She remembered the grief she felt when her sister ran away.
Then Daisy approached to Olivia and Mia. She hugged to Olivia and said, “Mom always told me about her family… about you, Aunt Olivia. She said you were really close when you were kids.”
When Olivia heard that Amelia was telling stories of her family made her realise that she was still loving her family, and longing for them.
Then Amelia approached them. When Olivia saw her long lost sister, she directly hugged her. They didn’t spoke for minutes, but just hugged. After the sister left their children at school, they went back to Olivia’s home, and talked for hours. They spent the next week together.
