Martha was a textbook example of a people pleaser. She just wouldn’t say yes when people would request something from her. Chelsea, her colleague would use this against her all the time.
Chelse would use Martha whenever she needed something. A report to finish, paperwork to submit, or a task she didn’t feel like doing she would ask Martha to do it, and she would.
One afternoon, Chelsea went to Martha’s desk again. She then asked for another paper. It was a bout a boring business trip. She then explained that she is throwing a big party, and that she needs Martha to go instead of herself.
Martha was planning her own vacation too during the dates of the trip, where she was going to see her longtime friend.
Chelsea begged and pleaded, which Martha couldn’t say no again. She called her friend Helen, and apologized that a business trip appeared out of nowhere.
She then went to the boring town where the meeting was going to be held. The room she staying was faded, and had grim windows.
She went to the building where the meeting was supposed to held. She needed a document, and since the documents were not digitalized, she spent hours to find the necessary documents in the archive.
She then studied the documents she was going to talk about. After that, she cleaned the mess in the archive. As she left the room, she then saw a tall man in a suit. The man asked that if she was Martha, and she nodded. Mr. Naton was the CEO of the company.
Martha’s heart skipped a beat. She didn’t know that she was going to have a meeting with the CEO. Then Mr. Naton asked that if she found the folder, and Martha went inside, and took the folder from the organized shelf and handed over. Mr. Naton was impressed.
“I can’t believe you’ve managed to do all of this in just one day,” CEO said.
“It’s rare to find someone who takes such pride in their work, especially when the task is as tedious as this. I appreciate your commitment, Martha.”
Before the day was over, Mr. Naton wanted to talk with Martha. When he welcomed her into his office, the CEO directly stated that he loved Martha’s work ethic, and that he needed an assistant with Martha’s discipline. He offered her to be his personal assistant. This meant that an incredible amount of raise and her transfer to the main building of the company.
When Martha went back to her old office, while she was taking her stuff from her desk, Chelsea approached and asked that if she was fired. As Martha was about to response, a driver called Martha as Ms. Adams, and stated that CEO of the company Mr. Naton was waiting her in the car.
