Tom kissed his wife Elly on the airport. She was going to New York for three days as she had a presentation for the company. The first day was filled with meetings and boring talks.
She was in her bed, and sent a goodbye text to her husband. Then she received a message from her husband’s phone.
“I am now lying in your bed, in your apartment, with your husband. Now I am the main woman here.”
Then a picture was sent. A woman was in her bedroom with her husband. Elly’s heart skipped a beat. She saw Sarah, her colleague. She was jealous of Elly’s promotion.
Elly couldn’t believe what was happening. She thought she was having a dream, but when she pinched herself, sadly she didn’t wake up. It was not a dream. It was real. And it was terrible.
She was trying to calm herself down, but she couldn’t hold her tears back. As the morning arrived, Elly worked and talked due to the nature of her trip. She was dead inside, but had to smile.
She extended her stay for two more days to think. She first arranged her divorce through her lawyer. Then she contacted a locksmith. She wanted the locks to be changed once she was there. Lastly, she called a friend in HR. She then explained the situation and sent Sarah’s picture.
When Elly returned back home, she found Tom sitting on the couch with a pale face. He was shocked. He tried to apologize but Elly didn’t listen.
Then she went to the bedroom, there Sarah was. “I — this isn’t what it looks like…” she mumbled, but Elly kicked her out.
She then handed Tom the divorce papers. As Tom had no idea what to do, “You should leave,” Elly said. Tom left then.
On the next day, Sarah walked pass Elly’s desk as if nothing happened. She had no idea that HR knew everything. Few minutes later, Sarah walked pass Elly’s desk again, this time, with a box in her hands, where her stuff was in as she was being escorted outside.
