Derek and Amy were together since they met during their sophomore year, five years ago, in college. Their marriage wasn’t the perfect one, as Derek had some commitment issues.
When it was time for moving in together, he found something to avoid it. When Amy wanted him to meet with her parents, he found something once again.
No matter what, Derek supported Amy through thick and thin.
When Derek proposed to her, she was shocked, as her family were too. After the proposal, Amy’s parents throw an engagement party and offered to pay for their wedding.
And now, it was time for their bedding. Amy was in the bride’s room with her bridesmaid, best friend Julia.
Then Amy was out of the room, she was posing with her parents. At that time, an angry Julia appeared and asked to Amy’s parents that if they were going to keep their act on or should she do something about it.
The parents tried to avoid Julia, while Amy was confused. Then Julia revealed that Amy’s parents Frank and May were paying Derek to propose to Amy. Julie apologized. She explained that she just heard Frank and May talking to each other about it and that she can’t keep this info away from her.
Then Amy’s eyes met with Derek. He was standing there, ashamed. He apologized and said that he should’ve told her about the truth. He was afraid to lose Amy.
Amy kicked her parents out of the wedding as she told them that they were manipulative maniacs who ruined her life. This was supposed to be Amy’s best and happiest day, and it was far from it now.
Then she turned to Derek with disappointment. No matter how Derek begged and explained that he did this to help their family with the money, but Amy wanted him to leave too.
Amy left the venue, went to her home, where she was living with Derek. First, she moved in to Julia’s apartment, and then she find a cozy place for herself. As months passed, she met with James, from the local hiking group.
James was a kind and understanding man, who was far from Derek. On their second week, he asked Amy to move in with him. This time, she had a great person in her life.
