Jayne and Matt had two children, Alex and Ben. They were living in the perfect neighbourhood, with their perfect family. Matt’s mother, Ellen was living in the same neighbourhood too, as the children would freely visit their grandmother.
But they had a problem. Whenever the children would return from Ellen, they would be sick.
Despite her husband wouldn’t believe that his mother was doing something, the pattern was clear. They would be sick whenever they visit Ellen’s house.
She decided to make a plan. She left her children at Ellen’s house once again, but this time she was going to watch what was happening in there.
After she dropped the kids, Jayne watched what was happening from the window. Her heart skipped a beat. The kids were nearly naked and doing push ups. The windows were fully open, and it was winter.
Jayne barged in and screamed “Alex! Ben! What on earth is going on here?”
Ellen was unbothered as she simply explained that the children were doing morning exercises.
As she snapped at Ellen, she told her, “You’re too soft on them, Jayne. They need to toughen up. This world isn’t kind, and neither should their upbringing be.”
“They’re children, not soldiers.” Jayne yelled, and take her children back to home.
When she talked with her husband about what happened, Matt was shocked. He immediately called his mother and stated that they shouldn’t visit each other for a while.
Few weeks later Ellen came to apologize. As they talked, they saw that Ellen was regretting her actions.
As they accepted her apology, the children never became sick after visiting her home.
