Sandra was an orphan who lost her family in a car crash when she was only a little girl. It has been so long ago, as she was an adult woman now.
She was working as a street cleaner, and her job was enough to keep her alive and meet her needs.
One day, she found a walled in the street. She checked inside of it and found a letter, and a few dollars in it. There was nothing that show the owner of the wallet.
She then noticed that the letter had a date on it. It was from 1969.
The letter was written for someone named Lewis, and in it a woman named Nancy stating that they can’t be together no matter how much Nancy loved Lewis.
In the end of the letter, the woman wrote her last name too, but it was torn from there, as it was reading like Nancy, Arn…
There was a return address and a number on the letter. She went to the phone exchange operator and tried to get information about Nancy. As the operator checked the number and the address, she asked if the owner was Nancy Arnolds.
Then she went to the address, and learned that the owner of the house bought the house 20 years ago. They told Sandra that Nancy was in a nursing home, and she went there.
When Sandra met Nancy, and showed the letter, Nancy cried as she said, “I can’t believe he has kept it safe until now. By the way, where did you find this?”
Nancy told their story of how her mother didn’t let them be together, and how both of them stayed single until that day. Nancy asked from Sandra to tell Lewis that she is waiting for her at the nursing home.
Then she learned from the guard of the nursing home that the owner of the wallet, Mr. Duncan, was living across the nursing home.
Sandra directly went to Lewis’ house. Actually, Lewis was visiting Nancy every day but he was afraid that her family would harm him.
Then Sandra told him the whole story of how Nancy was waiting for him and that she never married. When Lewis heard that, he couldn’t hold his tears back and with Sandra, they returned to the nursing home.
When they met once again, Lewis and Nancy embraced each other as they cried. Few weeks later, Sandra received a letter of invitation for Lewis and Nancy’s wedding.
