Sarah was waiting for her daughter to return from her ballet class, where her friend’s mother Lena was supposed to bring her back an hour ago.
Then, she heard the footsteps at her door and there her daughter was finally at home. Jenny told her mother that she wanted to practice a little more.
Sarah was worried. “You’ve been late every day this week, honey. There’s homework to be done and rest to be had.”
Then again, on the next day, Jenny was late once more. When her husband David saw Sarah, he realized that there was a problem. Sarah explained the situation with their daughter.
She told her husband that she called the dance school and learned that they weren’t keeping young students long since adult students needed to work more than them.
“Do you think she’s just going home with Lena and then coming home when she’s done playing?” David asked.
Then Sarah explained that Lena was told by Jenny that her parents were taking her. So, they agreed to follow Jane after her ballet class.
There, Jenny was walking on the streets after her ballet class. She then went into an abandoned factory.
“I told my parents I was practicing. They have no idea I’m here with you, Angela.” Jenny’s voice was heard. “I brought you some food, just like I promised.”
Then they found their daughter helping a homeless woman in the abandoned factory. Sarah recognized the old lady. She was the woman who helped Sarah’s mother when she was sick.
Before her mother passed away, this woman scammed Sarah’s mother, Molly, until she was left penniless.
As she was furious, she called her daughter. When Jenny saw her parents, she was like as if she saw a ghost.
“This is the woman who stole from your grandmother. She’s the reason that Gran couldn’t afford her medication and didn’t tell us about it. Which is how she got so sick.”
As Angela was in tears, she explained why she did that. Her daughter was dying, and that she needed money to save her. She had no other choice.
“I took the money from your mother, yes. But it was too late. My daughter didn’t make it. After that, I lost everything. My home, my family, my will to live.”
After Jenny wanted her parents to help Angela, they took her to a shelter where they were helping homeless women to live in a decent place and find them places to work. Until Angela passed away, Sarah and Jenny visited her. They buried Angela next to her daughter, as she asked for.
