After their wedding in 2011, Prince William chose to not wear a wedding ring which was confusing for many. A royal aide talked about the situation as they gave it an explanation.
Before their wedding, the couple wanted only one ring as a royal spokeswoman shared. Their ring was made out of Welsh gold, and the couple designed it.
Many people were curious when the palace announced that only Kate Middleton will be wearing a wedding ring.
“It was something the couple discussed but Prince William isn’t one for jewelry – he doesn’t even wear a signet ring – and decided he didn’t want to. It really is just down to personal preference.” A royal aide said.
A source shared that men in William’s social class would have their family signet ring and it shows that the man is married, but William didn’t have a signet ring.
Royal author Penny Junor said, “He doesn’t like jewelry, and the Palace issued a statement before their wedding saying so.”
As over two billion people watched William and Kate’s wedding, royal editor Robert Jobson shared that his marital status is well-known.
Royal author Diane Clehane shared that William not opting a ring also shows his modern side. The royal expert also stated that the situation is showing the trust between them.
