The famous country singer was born on the 7th of October, in 1951, in Seymour, Indiana. He sold almost 30 million albums, and received 14 Grammy nominations. When he talked about his career, he said, “Very simply, luck is thinking you’re lucky, period. And you’re talking to the luckiest guy you’re ever going to talk to.”
The singer also has a career as a voice actor. He voiced characters in “Madison,” “Family Guy,” “Love Monkey.”
The 73-year-old country star had some challenges in his life. In 1971, he stopped using drugs, and started to live a healthy life because his life started to be wilder.
But he couldn’t leave one addiction, he was still smoking since he was 14. After he suffered a health condition in the 90s, he stopped.
“I had lots of doctors going, ‘John, your cholesterol’s way too high and you smoke,'” the singer said. When he had a heart attack in 1994, when he was 42, he took it as a sign and it changed his life.
He focused on his family when he was 55, with his then-wife Elaine, and raised their children. His career dropped from his priorities, and the singer said, “We take the boys with us everywhere and we’re always trying to open their eyes to new experiences.”
“I want my boys to remember these good times we’re sharing together.”
The country singer married three times. His first marriage was with Priscilla Esterline. They stayed together for a decade, from 1970 to 1981. Then he married Victoria Granucci, between 1981 and 1989. Later, he married Elaine Irwin in 1992, and they stayed together until it was 2011.
The singer welcomed five children from his three marriages, which all failed.
In 2011, after his divorce, the singer was seen with Meg Ryan. They broke up in 2014, and reunited in 2017. A year later, they engaged and the singer said. “I’m engaged at 67 to a very funny woman — the funniest woman I ever met.”
In 2019, they finished their relationship for good.
The famous country singer is none other than John Mellencamp. He is a talented singer, and a painter.
When he talked about his personal life in New York, he stated, “To live an artist’s life, you have to create every day. When I was there, there was no place for me to paint, no place for me to write, so I bought this little place.”
