WHILE PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE WERE DATING, PRINCE WILLIAM WAS AFRAID FOR HIS BROTHER

In the docuseries on Netflix, “Harry & Meghan,” Meghan Markle stated that it was in 2016 Wimbledon tennis tournament when she and Harry meet. They had a dinner, where Harry was late for 30 minutes.

“I couldn’t understand why he would be late,” Meghan said. “But he kept texting. He was like, ‘I’m in traffic. I’m so sorry.’”

“I was panicking, I was freaking out,” Harry continued. “I was, like, sweatin’.”

“I was a hot, sweaty, red ball of mess,” Harry described himself when he was at the restaurant.

“You were just so sweet,” Meghan shared. “You were genuinely so embarrassed and late.”

Later, in his book “Spare,” Harry talked about his first big fight with Meghan Markle. When he started dating her, Harry was over the moon. In the docuseries, a friend of the couple shared that they were great. Despite they were in a long distance relationship, they found a way.

“Everything was text and FaceTime, we’d talk for hours. It felt exciting but not in the way people would assume it would be,” Meghan said. “It was just relaxed and easy.”

Harry talked about their first big fight as, “Maybe the wine went to my head. Maybe the weeks of battling the press had worn me down. For some reason, when the conversation took an unexpected turn, I became touchy.”

“Then angry. Disproportionately, sloppily angry.”

He also revealed that he started to talk cruelly towards her after she talked about something culturally different. “As the words left my mouth, I could feel everything in the room come to a stop. The gravy stopped bubbling, the molecules of air stopped orbiting. Even Nina Simone seemed to pause.”

Meghan left the room and after fifteen minutes later, Harry found her in their bedroom.

“She was calm, but said in a quiet, level tone that she would never stand for being spoken to like that. I nodded. She wanted to know where it came from,” Harry wrote.

Then Meghan said to her, ”‘Where did you ever hear a man speak like that to a woman? Did you overhear adults speak that way when you were growing up?’ I cleared my throat, looked away [and responded], ‘Yes.’”

“She wasn’t going to raise children in an atmosphere of anger or disrespect. She laid it all out, super-clear,” Harry wrote in the book.

“It came from somewhere deep inside, somewhere that needed to be excavated, and it was obvious that I could use some help with the job,” Harry explained.

“‘I’ve tried therapy,’ I told her. ‘Willy told me to go. Never found the right person.’ [It] didn’t work. ‘No,’ she said softly. ‘Try again.’”

As it is also stated, when Prince William and Meghan Markle first met, they had a great start. mid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, royal authors, shared that they got “along so well” after their “first meeting.”

“She was self-aware enough to understand that the brothers were wary of women who were more interested in their titles than their wellbeing,” authors shared.

“And she couldn’t have come from a more different world than that of William, his wife, and most of their friends.”

As the authors wrote, Prince William greeted Markle as, “I was looking forward to meeting the girl who has put that silly grin on my brother’s face.”

But also, Prince William was worried about their relationship due to Markle’s background.

According to the authors, Prince William told his brother, “Don’t feel you need to rush this,” and “Take as much time as you need to get to know this girl.”

The royal authors stated that Prince William “just wanted to make sure that Harry wasn’t blindsided by lust.”

“William soon began to wonder about some of Meghan’s traits and motivations,” a source shared.

“He was worried that at times she seemed to be more concerned about her personal progression or profile over the wider goals and aims of the Royal Family.”

“Meghan would agree with the assessment that the Duchesses were not the best of friends,” the royal authors shared about the strained relationship between Markle and Middleton.

“Their relationship hadn’t progressed much since [Markle] was Harry’s girlfriend.”

“Meghan was disappointed that she and Kate hadn’t bonded over the position they shared, but she wasn’t losing sleep over it,” they continued. “Meghan would far rather have had Kate check in on her during the most difficult times with the press.”
