Brian was 26, and his sister Linda was 19. Their 90-year-old grandmother, Marlene, called and invited them one day. She was old and also sick. She didn’t have much time, so she wanted to see them for one last time.
When they went into Marlene’s room, Linda noticed that the room was dusty. Since her grandmother was sick, she couldn’t clean the room. The ceiling was moldy and leaking.
She then hugged to her grandmother, and revealed that she would take care of her. Linda was already living with Marlene a year ago. After she received a scholarship, she moved away, as her grandmother insisted.
Then Brian entered, and he was complaining about the dust, and blamed Marlene for the dust in the room. He was only waiting to learn why Marlene invited them, as he was bothered.
Then Marlene gave $5,000 to each of her grandchildren. As Linda cried, Brian didn’t like the amount.
When morning arrived, Marlene was surprised with Linda’s arrival. She woke her up, cleaned the room and brought breakfast into her bedroom. She was surprised because Linda was living in another city.
Linda revealed that she took a month off. As Marlene cried, they hugged. With the $5,000 Marlene gave to her, Linda renovated the house and fixed the leakage.
Few weeks later, Linda found her grandmother dead. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. Brian came a couple days after the funeral, since the lawyer called them.
Brian received the house while Linda received a box full of antique clocks. Brian mocked her when he saw the box. There were over 20 clocks, and a note in the box.
She went home and read the note.
Marlene left her granddaughter an incredible wealth. In the letter, she revealed that these clocks were older than 100 years, and each clock was worth $35,000.
