WHAT HAPPENED TO CYNTHIA RHODES AFTER DIRTY DANCING

The famous actress was born on the 21st of November, 1956. Through her talents, where she sang, acted and danced, she rose to her stardom.

At the peak of her career, she decided to leave the spotlight, as she focused on other things in life.

She was raised in Tennessee, and she was young when she felt an attraction towards dancing. She was three when she started to dance, and when she was sixteen, she started to professionally dance.

She later practiced for the Olympics, and that training led her to Hollywood. She was training for ten hours for her role in “Dirty Dancing,” where she starred along with Patrick Swayze.

After the movie, Rhodes decided to stop dancing because her body was aching from the training she took while the movie was shooting.

After she met Richard Marx, they fell in love with each other. They married in 1989. He wrote his song “Right Here Waiting,” for Rhodes. They were still dating at the time, and Rhodes was in South Africa for filming.

“It was the fastest song I wrote, in barely 20 minutes. And this was the time when there was no Skype and social networking, so I had to ship the track to her,” Marx said.

They welcomed three boys, Brandon Marx, Lucas Marx, Jesse Marx.

After two decades of marriage, the couple decided to part their ways in 2014. They ended their 25 years of marriage, which shocked their fans. “It has been a painful time,” Marx said when he talked about their split.

“What I will say is that I had the great fortune and blessing to not only be married to Cynthia for all those years but to just share her company.”

A year later, Marx started a relationship with Daisy Fuentes and married in 2015. People commented on the resemblance between Rhodes and Fuentes.

After her divorce, Rhodes made a rare appearance in 2023, along with author Randal Kenneth Jones. She was promoting the book, “Ruby,” where Jones stated that he was inspired by Rhodes while creating the main character of the book.
