Caleb was in his office, where he was checking the reports he received for his company. Then an old woman, the cleaning lady, entered to his office with her cleaning supplies.
The woman apologized, and explained that she will only mop the floor. As soon as Caleb saw the woman, his face went pale. The woman was the spitting image of his late mother.
“It’s unbelievable,” he said. “I didn’t see you around, but you are looking familiar.”
“I’m Michelle sir,” the woman responded. “I recently started, only two weeks ago.”
As Caleb was shocked, he accidentally spilled his coffee onto his laptop. Michelle rushed towards Caleb and started to mop the desk. Then Caleb saw a scar on Michelle’s left arm.
“How did you get this scar?” He asked.
“I don’t remember. I have amnesia. I don’t even remember my own name, I saw this name on a billboard and took it as my own. It happened more than 20 years ago which I have no recollection of it.”
“Your relatives, friends?” Caleb asked.
“I have nobody.” Michelle said as she became upset. “No one tried to reach out to me for all these years.”
“Michelle, as it can be heard as nonsense, you are the spitting image of my late mother. She died 29 years ago, when I was only a newborn, as my father revealed. She had the exact same scar on her left arm. Please come with me and take a DNA test. I’m losing my mind right now.”
As Michelle was shocked, she decided to take the test. They went to the nearest hospital and took a DNA test.
12 Years Ago…
Caleb and his father were working on the roof of their house. When he entered to the attic, he found an old picture, where a woman was holding a baby. It was written “Caleb with mommy!” on the back of the picture.
Caleb was shocked since his mother Olivia didn’t had a scar on her left arm. The woman was also not looking like his mother too. He talked with his father and then he found out the truth.
That his father remarried after his mother passed away short after Caleb was born after a car accident, and Olivia tried to raise him as her own. On the next day, he took Caleb to his late wife, Sarah’s grave. They left flowers on the grave, talked a little bit and returned back to their house.
Present Day…
As they entered to the hospital, Caleb rushed to the desk and explained the situation and paid extra for faster results. As they talked, Caleb learned that Michelle woke up in the woods, where a woodcutter found her in the river. Then they took her to a hospital and there she learned about her amnesia.
Caleb was nervously waiting for the results. Few hours later the results arrived, and he learned that Michelle was his mother with the rate of 99.99%.
