THE CAREER AND LIFE OF DRAKE HOGESTYN

John Black of “Days of Our Lives,” Donald Drake Hogestyn had left a mark in TV. He appeared on 4,300 episodes, and spent 38 years on the show.

He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1953. In the 80s, he rose to stardom and started to act for Columbia Pictures. He landed on a role in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

He also was a talented baseball player, which he even got drafted by the New York Yankees.

It was in 1986, when Hogestyn starred on the first episode of “Days of Our Lives.” As he starred in the show until 2008, his fans were shocked when he and his co-star, Deidre Hall were fired from the show.

As the fans wanted to see Hogestyn in the show, the showrunners brought him back. Sadly, Hogestyn passed away as he appeared on the show for the last time on the 9th of September.

He met with his wife, Victoria, when he was 15, and she was 12. ”We were meant to be,” Drake shared.

On the 28th of September Drake Hogestyn passed away, after his battle with pancreatic cancer was lost.

His family announced his passing in a statement as, ”He was thrown the curveball of his life when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but he faced the challenge with incredible strength and determination. After putting up an unbelievable fight, he passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones.”
