Back in 2012, Sylvester Stallone’s son, Sage, was found unresponsive by a housekeeper. His passing devastated his family, especially Stallone himself.
Few weeks before Sage passed away, he kept himself away from everyone as he wanted to live quietly.
It was challenging for Sage to grow up as being a son to a huge name in Hollywood. He was born in 1976, while Stallone’s career was rising. He wouldn’t be happy when his father would be away due to his busy schedule.
“I was an easygoing guy, and school was pretty much people trying to challenge me to a fight, y’know, saying, ‘Rambo! Rocky!'” Sage said back in 1996.
When Sage appeared as Balboa Jr., in the Rocky V, he had a line where his character was shouting at Rocky, his father, “When I was screaming ‘You never spent time with me!’ that was true,” Sage said.
When his final days were close, Sage opted to live quietly, and alone in his Los Angeles home. He was not leaving his house, or attend any of the social events.
On the 13th of July, 2012, his mother Sasha asked to his housekeeper to check on him after she didn’t hear from him in a while. Then the housekeeper found his body next to empty pill bottles and cigarette butts.
The reports stated that Sage was at least dead for four days when he was found.
“When a parent loses a child, there is no greater pain,” Stallone said after losing his son.
“Sage was our first child and the center of our universe,” the grieving father continued.
