Olivia was a single mother who worked hard for her son, Chris. He was in New York for college, and Olivia was paying for all his need. For most of his life, Olivia couldn’t afford much, and for that reason she always felt guilty. Her son was always fed and had a shelter above his head.
Chris had a fiance, Rosalie, and she was pregnant. When they were talking over the phone, Rosalie invited Olivia to New York. Since she was close to her due date, Chris and Rosalie were not able to travel a lot.
Since Olivia was working hard, she couldn’t travel too. She wouldn’t have much time left to do the things she would like to.
Then, Chris wanted to talk with his mother alone. He then wanted help from Olivia for the house Chris wanted to buy in New Jersey, he told his mother that the house was reminding him home.
Since Rosalie didn’t have a family, Olivia was everything they got. She said that she will try her best to support them.

It has been seven years since she last saw her son in flesh. She invited them for Christmas once again, as she did last seven years. She was also missing her granddaughter’s life too.
They were talking on the computer once again. Chris was showing Mallory. Later, he explained that they can’t due to their crowded schedule.

Chris was finally in his old neighbourhood. Olivia didn’t know that her son was back to see her. He couldn’t bring his family with him but he was there. When he arrived at his mother’s house, he couldn’t see the plants Olivia loved. The garden was unattended, and the house was looking empty.
As he knocked the door, their old neighbour Mrs. Torres called Chris. Then he learned that his mother moved two years ago, and she sold the house. Olivia never told that to her son. Then he received his mother’s new address, which was not in the good part of the city. After he learned that his mother was living with a roommate, he rushed to the address.
When Olivia saw her son, she was shocked. When Chris started to ask questions, she revealed the truth. She wanted to help her son and to do that she sold her house. She was already working hard, but she was not making much.
Chris stated that if he would’ve known he wouldn’t ask for any money. But Olivia wanted her son to be successful. Chris stopped her, bought two tickets back and explained to Rosalia that he is bringing his mother to live with them.
Olivia didn’t want to disturb them, but Chris gave her no choice. For the rest of his life, Olivia didn’t miss her granddaughter, Mallory’s growing.
