That morning, after Sally left the house, she forgot to leave lunch money for her son. She was working at two jobs, and that stress caused her to forget that. Caleb texted to his mother about the lunch money.
Then she called her son and explained to her 12-year-old son that she forgot to leave him money. She was feeling guilty.
She apologized, but Caleb was fine with it. “It’s okay, Mom!” Caleb responded, “I’ll just check the cereal box where Dad keeps money. I don’t need much anyway.”
She was shocked. Caleb revealed that his father was keeping money in the Cheerios box.
Sally was shocked when she learned that her husband was hiding money from her.
“Well, you do that! And I’ll see you later, sweetheart. Love you!” Sally said and hung up the phone.
Sally couldn’t believe that her husband was doing something like this, while she was working at two different jobs, he was hiding money from her.
That evening, when she returned from work, Sally checked the Cheerios box, and found an envelope under it. There were cash in it, which was more than hundreds. The money was more than enough to repair their car, pay their rent and their bills.
On the next day, she booked an appointment at a luxury spa. She was working like crazy for years, while her husband was keeping money away from her. She was going to spend some.
She had a complete makeover. Her hair, nails got changed. The massage was incredible. She was feeling reborn.
When she returned home, Mark couldn’t believe his eyes. Then Sally told him that she found the money under the box, and used it.
Then Mark revealed that his boss told him that they might close the shop for a while, so he decided to keep some money hid in a spot to have something if things go south.
But Sally was upset that she was being lied to. “I didn’t lie,” he said. “I just didn’t tell you.”
But he saw that Sally was upset. He didn’t want to upset his wife and apologized.
“Do you even realize what this looks like? I’m over here thinking we’re broke, working two jobs while you’re hiding money for some hypothetical future disaster? How could you not tell me?”
“We’re a team, Mark. Or aren’t we?”
“We are baby. I’m sorry.”
