Back in July of 2024 Rod Stewart needed to cancel his shows due to health problems he is facing, where he made his fans concerned about his health status over the weeks. The 79-year-old legendary name also made some comments about his health which raised more worrying from his fans.
As Stewart stated that his days are “numbered,” he later made another statement to relieve his fans. His wife Penny Lancaster also talked about Stewart’s health.
Where Stewart announced that he is cancelling his 200th show from his social media account, he shared that his days were numbered too. As that caused a stir among his fans, he later relieved his fans.
“I’m desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration. Most people can work with strep throat, but obviously not me. I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long,” Stewart wrote.
“My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused. Thankfully, we’ll now be returning in 2025, and I hope to see you there.”
And later, another post was shared read as, “We regret to announce that tonight’s Rod Stewart concert in Stateline, NV, and his August 10 show in Lincoln, CA have been postponed, as the singer recovers from a summer strain of Covid-19.”
Many fans shared their thoughts as, “I’m so heartbroken. Wishing you well.” and “Heard [you’re] ill. I pray you’ll get better soon. All the best also to your wife, Penny, and family. Lots of love.”
As Stewart made a joke as he said, “My days are numbered,” the iconic singer continued as, “I say few — probably another 15 [years].”
“The older you get, the more you have to do that.” Stewart continued, and added that he is still “going crazy,” with his band and dancers while he is performing on the stage.
“You’re talking to Rod Stewart here, mate. We go mad after every show. There are 13 of us, six women, really great musicians, and I make them drink. We absolutely love it,” Stewart shared.
His wife Penny Lancaster made comments about her husband’s words, as she said “bizarre.” Lancaster stated that Stewart is full of energy and life, where he is moving around more than young people.
“His motto is, ‘Keep your legs strong and they’ll carry you through life.’ It’s all about fitness, health, and longevity.” Lancaster said.
When Stewart talked about his life, the famous singer said, “I have had a good time and a good life, and I’ve enjoyed myself, so I wouldn’t ask for anything more. Probably good health and good health for my children and happiness… and Celtic doing well.”
