After her mother passed away, Emily’s father James married a new woman, Marlene. She would change everything related to Emily’s late mother, Jane. She was destroying Jane’s belongings in the house.
She started with the pictures of Jane. Every picture where Jane in was gone. She threw the blankets away. The last thing she did was to getting rid of Jane’s wedding ring. She stated that it was lost.
One day, she come back home earlier than usual, and saw Marlene destroying the urn Jane’s ashes were in.
She claimed that the urn fell from the shelf by itself.
Emily saw red as Marlene was smirking. She went to her room to not do anything crazy. Since James was in love with Marlene, he didn’t notice the terrible things she was doing.
Emily was thinking the smirk on Marlene’s face as she was thinking of a plan. She thought about it the whole night and decided to do something about it. Nonetheless, accidents were happening in the house.
She brought a large box, and claimed that it was the last belongings of her mother and gave it to Marlene. She wanted her to keep the box safe, as she stated that her father would forget it.
The next morning, Marlene was running inside the house. She was yelling that her iPad, cashmere sweaters and other belongings were missing.
Emily asked about the box she gave to her yesterday. Marlene asked what her belongings were to do with that box. She then revealed that the box accidentally fell into water and then throw it into the garbage box.
“Interesting,” Emily smirked. “The box containing my mother’s last belongings disappears accidentally, just like her photos, just like her ashes. You did it on purpose, didn’t you?!”
She was aware that her father was listening, so she kept talking.
“I don’t know why you’re going on about your dead mother. She’s GONE, so her things should be gone too!” Marlene said.
“Well, at least you’re admitting what you’ve been doing with my Mom’s things. The box was a test.”
“The items that you thought had gone missing, I put them in the box,” Emily revealed. “I wanted to see what you’d do with it if you thought it was my Mom’s prized possessions.”
Then her father went downstairs, and gave Marlene two days to take her stuff and leave. He immediately started the divorcing process. He understood the mistake he had when he closed his eyes to Marlene’s actions.
