Cecilia was a single mother, who was a marketing manager in a big firm. She had a daughter, Lily. Nine years ago, Cecilia divorced her husband, and since she is living with her daughter, as a single mother.
As it was tough, her career helped her to build a stable life for herself and her daughter. They were in the same neighbourhood for the last five years. They never had a problem with anyone.
They had solar lights in their garden, and Lily would love to watch them each evening. It was their little mother and daughter project. They would spend an entire evening watching the lights together, and Lily would tell her mother her dreams about the future.
Then their new next-door neighbour arrived, Meredith. She was a mean woman. She was a finance worker and had a new expensive car. She loved to look like she was a millionaire. But she wasn’t.
She was a terrible person. She wouldn’t talk with anyone, and she would always complain when children play on the street. One day, she started to complain about the solar lights in Cecilia’s garden.
She would say that the lights were keeping her awake. But the lights weren’t even bright enough to light their arounds. They were just balls of dimmed candle lights.
Also, they were also automatically close themselves when it was midnight. She wanted those lights to go, but Cecilia didn’t accept, as her daughter was unhappy about the situation.
Then Cecilia decided to take the lights down. That upset Lily, as she saw her mother pulling them down on the ground. Despite Cecilia explained the situation, Lily was upset.
On the next day, Cecili was awoken with the bangs on her door. It was Meredith. She was in her pajamas, and she was looking like a homeless person. She then accused her with ruining her garden, and demanded from her to put the solar lights back on.
Cecilia was shocked. Yesterday she wanted them out of the garden, or else she threatened to involve authorities, and now she wanted them to stay on the garden.
Cecilia talked peacefully again, and Meredith explained that her garden was raided by racoons. They destroyed her flowers and plants.
Then she begged of Cecilia to put those lights back up. Cecilia refused, as she wanted her to have her lesson. She advised her to contact to a professional about her garden.
As the weeks went by, Meredith spent a fortune on her garden, and fixed it. Then Cecilia put the lights back up with new additions.
