A woman shared a story on Reddit, where she explained that her marriage of five years ended after her husband’s terrible choices and frustrations.
The woman explained that after their child was born, her mother-in-law started to questioning if her son was the real father of the child.
“For a while now [my MIL] has been making comments about how my son doesn’t look like my husband when he was a toddler. Basically accusing me of sleeping around. This, rightfully so upset me,” Redditor shared.
Her husband never tried to defend her as she was constantly receiving accusations from her mother-in-law. She slowly lost her feelings against her husband since he was not supporting her.
One day, her husband stated that he wants a DNA test. He claimed that he had no doubts, but he wished to fulfil his mother’s request. It was an outrageous thing for the Redditor, as she accepted for the DNA test.
When the results arrived, it was confirmed that her husband was the father indeed. Since she had enough with the toxic environment of her husband’s family, she decided to take her child and leave.
Since she had a good paying job, she decided to take matters on her own, and protect her son from her husband’s family. She filed for divorce, and she also kept her son.
