75-year-old Richard saw his wife of 53 years in a restaurant, with another man. They were divorced after that many years of marriage. The man Vanessa with was probably 20 years younger.
With anger, he went to confront her. He started to yell at them. He couldn’t believe how Vanessa started dating that short after their divorce.
Then the young man responded, “Mom…is this my Dad?”
Richard was petrified. He couldn’t move or speak. Then Vanessa asked from Richard to sit down and listen. She then recalled the past, when they first met 54 years ago at that bar.
Vanessa’s father was a pastor, and he wouldn’t want his daughter to leave the house after the sun was set. But Vanessa would leave the house in secret, and go to parties with her friends.
Then at that party, Richard and Vanessa met. They spent the night together, and before the dawn, Richard brought Vanessa back to her house. Three weeks after, Vanessa found out that she was pregnant.
Then her mother advised her to get back with her ex, Dylan. She spent a night with him, and stated that the baby was from him. After her father found out of the situation, becoming a grandfather calmed him down. Nonetheless, Dylan was ready to marry Vanessa.
She was 18 when she gave birth to her son. Then a doctor revealed the truth to Dylan, and he learned that he was not the father. As he learned that, he confronted Vanessa, and leave her.
Then she had no other option to give her child up for adoption. It was hurtful to leave her child. Later, Richard came back to her life. When he learned of the story, he was shocked.
Then he turned to Simon, his son. Simon revealed that his adoptive father told him the truth before he passed away. After three years of searching, he finally found Vanessa’s address.
“Well…I never thought at 75, I would teach my 53-year-old son his first lesson!” Richard cried, “I hope you now know it’s better to be truthful…and give people a second chance! This applies to your mother and me as well!”
