Few years ago, Lisa Marie Presley had a tough time after she lost her son, Benjamin Keough.
Lisa Marie Presley faced with death when she was only a child. When her father, king of rock’n roll, Elvis Presley passed away at the age of 42, she was only nine. Then her life led her to pressure, broken marriages, and an addiction to painkillers.
But the worst pain she received was from her son’s passing, in 2020, when Benjamin Keough sadly took his own life with a gunshot. He was 27 when he passed away.
Few years later, in 2023, Lisa Marie Presley passed away, when she was 54 years old.
As Lisa Marie was preparing to release a memoir, she recorded herself. Her eldest daughter Riley Keough revealed the recordings as it later collected in the book, “From Here To The Great Unknown.”
“There is no law in the state of California to bury someone immediately. I found a very empathetic funeral home owner,” Lisa Maria shared in her recordings.
“I told her that having my dad in the house after he died was incredibly helpful because I could go and spend time with him and talk to him. She said, ‘Well bring Ben Ben to you. You can have him there.’”
She then revealed that she cared for her son in the room where it was constantly 55 degrees to preserve his body.
When Riley learned that, she asked to see Benjamin’s tattoos, and her mother said that she could show him instead.
“I think that the story could, on paper, I can see how this sounds completely insane and absurd. But I — my mom was just very much herself,” Keough shared. “She wasn’t a crazy lady.”
