Late Disney star, Cameron Boyce, started to live in the heart of his fans after his roles in Disney productions. As he was a great star, he was also a memorable person in his private life, for the people who were close to him.
Jenna Ortega talked about Boyce after his passing. Ortega shared a story she experienced with him. The story led social media users to call Boyce a “good man.”
People know Boyce for his role in “Jessie,” and “Descendants” series. His sweetness and comedic character through his talent in acting led him to a stardom in a short notice.
Sadly, in 2019, when he was only 20, Boyce’s parents announced that their son passed away in his sleep, after having a seizure. The actor was struggling with epilepsy, and the seizure was caused by it.
His family released a statement, and said, “The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”
After his passing, people became more aware against epilepsy. Since his passing, Boyce family is now focused on raising awareness for the disease. His mother once said, “One in twenty-six people have epilepsy. Everybody knows somebody who has epilepsy, yet we never talked about it.”
Boyce’s passing had affected his co-stars, where his friend China McClain shared in 2024 that she had struggled with returning to the “Descendants.”
“I was apprehensive to revisit the ‘Descendants’ world at first because losing Cam was the first heartbreak I’ve ever experienced. But once I saw how excited the new generation of kids were, it reminded me of myself when we created the original films,” McClain recalled.
Skai Jackson, shared a post from her social media account to honour Boyce’s memory, and to celebrate his birthday. The actress captioned the picture where he was hugging Boyce, “I’ll never forget you. Happy 25th Birthday.”
In his career, Boyce had worked with Jenna Ortega too, and in a recent interview, Ortega shared a moment she had with Boyce during an audition. The actress and the actor knew each other from Disney Channel, and they were auditioning for a romantic story.
The audition required an intimate scene where they were going to kiss. Ortega was 15 at that time, and she started to feel uncomfortable, as Boyce realised that Ortega had a problem, he decided to stop the audition.
“We both just kinda looked at each other, and we were like, ‘No, we can’t do this,'” Ortega recalled. “I was uncomfortable, and I was having a hard time, and he was so sweet.”
