Emma and John were married for seven years. They had two children, 8-year-old Liam and 5-year-old Sophie. Emma was a stay-at-home mother and John was working for a big company, where he would travel a lot.
As once again he went to another trip, he returned back to his family after a week. He was excited to see his family and spend time with them since he missed his wife and children.
When he walked inside, he couldn’t find anyone. He called for his family, but there was no response.
Then he heard a faint noise from the cellar. Emma was calling for help.
When he opened the cellar door, he asked what happened and Emma told her husband that his mother took the children while they were playing hide and seek. “Jenny locked me in there while we were hide and seek with the children.”
As John embraced his wife and calmed her down, he told her that they will find their children.
While they were on the road for Jenny’s house, Emma talked.
“Jenny came yesterday. She wanted the kids for the weekend but I didn’t let her take them since I had plans for them. Then she wanted to spend some time with them, and suggested to play hide and seek. You’ve witnessed the rest of the story.”
There, Liam and Sophie were playing on the yard of John’s mother, Jenny. As they walked out of the car, Jenny welcomed her son with a big smile. But Emma was angry, and started to yell at her.
“WHY DID YOU LOCK ME IN THE CELLAR? WHAT A TERRIBLE PERSON ARE YOU? WHY DID YOU STEAL MY CHILDREN?”
As Jenny was shocked, she defended her self. She explained that she wasn’t the one who locked Emma in the cellar.
Then Sophie approached to her mother. “Mommy, are you angry? I’m sorry that I’ve locked you in the cellar. It was just a game.”
“Liam and I wanted to go to grandma Jenny, but you didn’t let us. I thought if I lock you in the cellar, you wouldn’t keep us away. Then I told grandma Jenny that you went to your friend’s house and let us go with her.”
As Emma hugged to her daughter, she apologized. Then she turned to Jenny, and apologized her too for yelling at her, and believing that she locked her in there.
