Jack and Molly were married for some time now. He was a type of man who would expect things from his wife, no matter how tired or exhausted his wife was. She was both working, dealing with their children, and also doing the house chores all on her own.
Jack was a weird man. He was not like that when they first married, but through time, he changed a lot. This started to feel humiliating Molly, since her husband would want weird things in various places. He wouldn’t seem to be thinking much, as he would only want things.
When she talked with her husband about that, Jack told Molly that she was overreacting. “It’s just a joke. You need to lighten up.”
During the family thanksgiving dinner, Jack’s mother, Amanda, wanted to talk with Molly. “I’ve been noticing that you don’t seem very happy with some of the things Jack says. Is everything alright between the two of you?”
Then Molly revealed the truth. She told Amanda what was bothering her. Amanda supported Molly, as she told her that Jack can be tough sometimes, but he doesn’t mean bad.
She also encouraged her to talk back and tell him how much hurtful he was. Then he would understand Amanda told her daughter-in-law. She also stated that she can talk with her son if Amy would like that too. Amy thanked and hugged as she showed her appreciation.
At the dinner, the laughter was flying above the table. The guests were happy as they were both dining and joking with one another. Then Jack did it again. Out of nowhere, he wanted Molly to dance for him.
The table went silent. Everyone was frozen. As Molly was about to say something, Amanda raised her voice and yelled at her son. She told him to apologize and that he should be ashamed of himself to say words like these in front of people, no matter who they were.
Jack went silent. He understood the terrible joke he made. Then Amanda sent everyone back to their homes, and wanted to talk with her son and daughter-in-law alone.
When they were alone, they talked for hours. Then Amanda suggested their divorce, as she was sure that her son wouldn’t change. She turned to Molly and stated that she is supporting her every decision. Then Molly wanted to give a last chance to Jack. She was right to do so, because Jack changed a lot, and he became a man he was supposed to be.
