Ken didn’t like when his son Leo shared with his father that he would like to be a musician. He was 18 when he talked about his passion with his family. They wanted Leo to be a lawyer, but his passion was music.
As Ken and his own father were lawyers, he wanted his son to be a lawyer just like the rest of his forebears.
Leo didn’t like his father’s forcing him to be a lawyer and he started to fight back. The fight was over when Ken told Leo that while he was under his roof, he had to do what his father wants.
That was it for Leo. That night, he packed his belongings and left home. His mother, Lily, kept begging her son to stop but he didn’t.
Three years had passed. Lily was preparing the breakfast when her phone ranged. An officer was calling Lily to inform that her son, Leonard Richie, passed away after a motorcyle accident.
Lily dropped her phone to the ground, as she fell on her knees. She was crying uncontrollably as she was screaming, “No way! That can’t happen! Nothing has happened to my son!”
Ken couldn’t understand what was happening as he found his wife screaming and crying on the kitchen ground.
Then he picked the phone up, and asked who it was on the call. The officer informed Ken that a motorcyle accident happened, and a young man named Leonard Richie passed away while he was on the ambulance.
Then the officer asked him to come to California and confirm Leonard’s body. In three days, they went to confirm Leo’s body, and returned his body to Milwaukee for his funeral.
As weeks passed, Ken blamed himself and started to drink heavily. Lily would visit her son’s grave each day as she would cry.
One day, she found a teddy bear above Leo’s grave. As she was shocked, she left the cemetery with questions that day.
On the next day, she saw a young woman looking at Leo’s grave. She had a baby in her arms and she was looking like she was praying.
She placed another teddy bear, and left with her baby. Lily approached to woman. She asked if she knew her son Leo.
The woman was shocked, and asked that if she was Lily, Leo’s mother.
Lily nodded.
“I’m Carrie. I’m Leonard’s girlfriend. And this baby is Henry, our son.” The woman said.
Then Lily noticed that the little boy was the carbon copy of her late son.
“Leonard missed you terribly. He was hoping to reconnect with you, but…” Carrie couldn’t continue as she started to lost in tears. Lily hugged to her, and brought her back to home.
The day Leo passed away, he was actually speeding to reach Carrie, who was at the hospital giving birth to Henry. Sadly, he had an accident and passed away.
Carrie told Lily that she was afraid to meet Leo’s parents since they might kick her out of their faces, as they did to Leo. Lily burst in tears after she heard that. She apologized. She hugged to Henry and Carrie.
She immediately offered Carrie to take her son and move in with them. Carrie was hesitating, but she finally accepted, as Ken begged her to live with them, as Carrie and Henry was the reminder of their late son.
