Angelica met Tom in high school, and everybody knew that they were end up with marriage. They were both living in the similar societies, and they were both coming from wealthy families.
Tom would think that they were living in a novel. From their marriage, Angelica and Tom welcomed two children, Emma and Jack. It was like a dream for the whole family.
They would spend their weekends in their backyard, where they would host BBQ parties for their family, neighbours and friends. The children would play with each other, and would make joyous sounds. It was truly a dream for them.
They were the perfect couple, the dream couple people would look up to. They would never have an argue and always supported each other.
Then the day of their high school reunion party arrived. It has been a decade since they had talked with their old school mates. They were excited to be with them and spend some quality time.
As they entered the venue, they immediately got called by their friends, who were laughing and chatting. They saw their best friend from school, Sarah, who was also excited to see Tom and Angelica.
They hugged tightly and smiled to each other. The chat immediately started about their lives, families and the past. Sarah showed the picture of her children with pride and joy.
“You have beautiful children!” Angelica smiled.
“Emily is eight and my boy Joshua is ten,” Sarah smiled back, “They are my sunshine!”
Angelica discovered something in the picture. She saw that Joshua had the same birthmark Tom has. She looked again and again and again, while Tom and their old friends were talking.
Then she wanted to talk with Sarah in private. And that’s when she learned about the affair Sarah and Tom had back in high school. Sarah became pregnant with Tom’s son and that’s when they decided to end their affair.
Tom’s parents offered money to Sarah to keep this as a secret. Since Angelica was also coming from a big, wealthy family, they wanted their son to be with someone who is coming from a similar family.
Angelica started to cry, as she couldn’t control herself. She slowly walked away as she gathered her strength. After they went back home immediately, Angelica started to pack. Tom was following her as he was nervous.
As they started to argue, Angelica kept packing her own belongings and their children’s belongings too.
“Mommy, what’s happening?” Jack asked.
“Your grandparents are waiting for us.” Angelica smiled.
She took her children to her parents home, which was in a different city. She couldn’t remember the road when she was at the home of her parents. Her parents were sure that something was not right. And when they learned of what was happening, they were shocked.
Few months later, with the unconditional love and support of her family, Angelica gathered enough strength to face Tom for their divorce. In few weeks the divorce was over, and Angelica was ready to start her life with her lovely children.
