FORMER PRESIDENT JIMMY CARTER’S GRANDCHILD GAVE UPDATES FROM HIS HOSPICE CARE

For the last 479 days, Jimmy Carter is in hospice care at his home in Plains, Goergia. Carter celebrated his 100th birthday today, as he went under hospice care when he was 99.

48-year-old Jason Carter talked about 39th President of the United States, and said, “God had other plans.”

As his eldest grandkid shared, there’s “really been no change” in Jimmy Carter’s health.

It has been 16 months since his wife of 77 years passed away, and Carter is “experiencing the world as best he can as he continues through this process.”

“After 77 years of marriage… I just think none of us really understand what it’s like for him right now,” his grandson said. “We have to embrace that fact, that there’s things about the spirit that you just can’t understand.”

According to Jason, former President Carter is sleeping most of the day. He also shared that few weeks ago they watched Atalanta Braves game, and talked about their family and the Carter Center.

“I told him, I said: ‘Pawpaw, you know, when people ask me how you’re doing I say, ‘honestly I don’t know,’” Jason recalled. “And he kind of smiled and he said ‘I don’t know, myself.’”
