Alex Temple Ward, confirmed the passing of 48-year-old, Tony-winning actor Gavin Creel. Famous actor was diagnosed with metastatic melanotic peripheral nerve sheath sarcoma, which is an aggressive form of a cancer.
After receiving his diagnosis, Creel started to his treatment at the Memorial Sloan Kettering. Later, Creel had a hospice care at home. His passing devastated Broadway community.
After his performance of Cornelius Hackl in the 2017 revival of “Hello, Dolly!” Creel received a Tony Award.
Since he was a young boy, Creel made everyone sure that he will be in acting game, as he was a talented young man. He proved his talents while growing up in Findlay, Ohio.
His funeral will happen privately, and a memorial service will be heard in coming days. His family shared that they didn’t want any flowers, and asked people to make donations to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS in his honour.
