Meg was working hard for the monthly family gatherings to keep her husband’s family fed and enjoy their stay. This was a generation from Dave’s grandmother, who would invite her siblings once in a month.
Then Dave’s father and uncles kept this tradition, and now it was Dave and his siblings and cousin’s turn.
There would be around 15 people for the gatherings. Meg was happy that she had a place in a tradition like this. She would love cooking.
Until the day of their hosting arrived, Meg tested many menus for the family, and until a week ago, she found the perfect menu.
Then she worked hard on that menu as she wanted to impress the family with her cooking skills.
Then the day arrived, but it didn’t go like Meg would want. The family had complained everything. They wanted less seasoning, less acids and more salt, etc.
But when Dave tasted the food, they were incredibly good. They were perfect. There was something else, a different reason for their complaints.
On the second time, Meg prepared what the family wanted, and for Dave, it was perfect again but the family complained again.
This time Dave was sure that the family were criticising Meg with a purpose. They then talked and made a plan.
For the third time, they talked with a professional chef, and revealed their situation and asked for help. As the chef agreed to help them, he prepared the food when the third gathering arrived.
The chef was hiding on the upstairs. The food was fantastic and they thought that even they couldn’t find something to complain.
As the dinner was over, the family again complained. Then they confronted with their family and revealed that a professional chef prepared the food and they invited Mike downstairs to reveal the truth.
Then his mother and sister revealed that they were making the whole family complain because they were jealous of her. Dave was deeply in love with his wife. Then Dave kicked his family out, and he never again attended or invited to a dinner hosted by his family.
