James was the single father of 4-year-old Emma and 5-year-old Lily. His wife Jen left them to travel the world. James loved his children but balancing his life was exhausting, since he was working, cooking, caring for his children, and also doing the house chores since they were alone.
He would wake his daughters and dress them. And then prepares breakfast for the girls.
This was his usual routine. But one day, as he went downstairs, he found three plates on the table. Once the girls saw the pancakes, they were happy. James called his sister Sarah and asked that if she come by, but she didn’t.
He checked the house, and found nobody. They were delicious. After they ate, James took his daughters to daycare. As he returned back home, he found the lawn freshly cut.
On the next morning, he decided to wake up earlier, and then found a woman climbing in through the window. As the woman saw James, she tried to ran away. James stopped her, and stated that he will not harm.
Then he asked about the pancakes and the lawn. Once the woman turned her face to him, he felt like he saw a familiar face. Then the girls called for their father. James told woman to wait and went to his daughters’ room.
Then James and girls went downstairs and started to talk to woman. The woman, Claire, revealed that James helped her when she was in need of help. She was lying on the street, and James took her to a charity hospital. They treated her in there, and after she was out, she decided to find James.
James remembered then. Claire explained how her ex-husband kicked her out of their home. James asked for her reason to be in his home then. Claire stated that she talked with the embassy, and they helped her and found her a job. Now she got power to fight for her son. And then she decided to help James in secret.
Then she apologized for breaking into their home and stated that she just wanted to help. The girls thanked to Claire for the pancakes. She smiled back at girls. Then James asked her to join their breakfast now and then, without breaking into the house.
Woman was happy, and she gladly accepted.
Claire made pancakes again, and they ate together. After they left the girls at daycare, they talked. Claire explained her story and how her son was stuck with her ex, and James explained how his wife left them.
As time passed, James helped Claire to get her son back. Their relationship got evolved, and few months later, Claire was walking down the aisle.
