Tristan took Kyle to school that day, as his mother Melly would take her to school usually. Since she had work to do, she let her husband took their children to school. That meant Kyle needed to take the school bus too, but he was not used to taking it since his parents would take him from school.
While Kyle was on the way back in his school bus, he started to read a book. His house was a little further away from most of his friends, so he had the time. After a while later, he left the bus thinking it was his time to leave.
He waited for a while, and called out his parents. Since he didn’t have a phone, he had to wait for his parents to come and pick him. It was cold and getting darker so Kyle started to get scared. Then he decided to take the walk back home, since it was his neighbourhood. Sadly, he got lost.
His parents were waiting for him at the correct bus stop. They started to feel nervous when Kyle didn’t left the bus when the school bus arrived.
The driver approached to them and explained the situation. He stated that he drove back and looked for Kyle but he couldn’t find him. Tristan and Melly immediately started to search the neighbourhood.
As Melly was crying, her phone got ranged.
“Mom?”
“Kyle! Where are you sweetheart?”
“I’m in a dirty room with Matt-” the line got cut.
The parents immediately called the police and they traced the phone call back to a shelter. They found Kyle in there with a homeless man, Matt.
Tristan and Melly were scared when they saw Frank, since he was looking shabby, and thought he was kidnapping their son. As Tristan was about to throw a punch at Matt, Kyle stopped his father.
“Dad! Matt saved me. I was lost and he took me in and he let me call you from his phone. He is the reason you found me safe and sound!”
Then they realized that Matt was only a good man who tried to save and protect Kyle from the cold and any danger that would have taken him in the streets.
Then Kyle continued, “He even bought me a sandwich with the last money he had. He got cold after he gave me his blanket.”
As Melly started to cry, she invited Matt to a restaurant. Then Tristan had arranged a job interview for Matt. As time passed, Matt was saved from the streets, he was working at a decent job and had a place to call home. He also got a new family.
