Maria decided to throw a surprise party for her husband’s 40th birthday. She told her husband that she would be not in town on his birthday, and agreed on celebrating it on a different day.
She then packed some belongings and tricked her husband that she was going to her trip. She was staying in her friend’s house in truth.
The next day, she went back to her home to prepare the party. She decorated the house until her husband left the work at 6 p.m.
The guests arrived when it was 4:45. When it was 5:30, everyone was present. The house was ready for the big party.
Then they closed the lights, and hid. Waited for Dave’s arrival. The door got unlocked when it was 6:10 p.m.
The footsteps come closer, but then she heard a woman voice. Was Dave cheating on her?
They turned on the lights, and they saw a young couple.
“Who are you?” Maria asked.
“Who are we? Who are you?” The woman asked back as she was frustrated.
Then the truth unfolded. The couple revealed that they hired the house on Airbnb. They were going to stay in the house for a couple of days. Then the realised that Dave listed the house when he learned that Maria was going off to her sister.
The couple, Jake and Emily were surprised too. They weren’t expecting anything like this. They apologized but Maria told them that they did nothing wrong. It was not their fault and Maria was aware of it.
Maria called her husband, and Dave asked how was her flight. Maria directly asked that if Dave listed their house on Airbnb.
“Uh, yeah. I figured since you were going to be out of town, we could make a little extra money.”
Then Maria revealed the truth about his birthday party. “Oh no, Maria, I’m so sorry. I didn’t know.”
He then returned back to home. Jake and Emily stated that they should leave, but Maria insisted on their stay, they were their guests.
After Dave arrived, the party started. They talked, and have fun together. They also hosted Jake and Emily in their house for the time they stayed in the house.
