Captain Edward Blair just announced their landing to Chicago to the passengers. Then with his first officer, they waited for all passengers to fully leave. But there was a man who refused to leave the plane.
Then Edward went outside to check what was happening. When Edward approach to the man who refused to leave, he was frozen. The man was his carbon copy.
He couldn’t say anything. Then the man asked that if he would like to see mom. Then Edward realised that the man was his twin, Adam. Edward was 8 when he left the orphanage. They were now 32. It has been decades since they last see each other.
Then Adam repeated the question, “Do you want to see your mom?”
As Edward nodded, Adam went outside of the plane. They took a taxi and went to the city. Adam didn’t talk on the road, as Edward tried to converse.
Edward kept talking. He stated that he never thought their mother would be back. He started to cry. He stated that since their father was gone, he thought their mother left them too.
Then Adam responded, “So instead, you agreed to be adopted by a wealthy family. You chose them over ME!”
Adam begged Edward not to leave him, but Edward didn’t listen and go with his adoptive family. He then said that their mother always blamed herself for Edward’s adoption.
He explained that he stopped searching for him years ago, but when he heard his name in that plane by luck, he wanted his mother to see Edward. He also revealed that he hates Edward as much as he hates their father, who left them.
When they reached to house, Edward noticed that Adam and his mother were living in poverty. Adam was working so much that he never asked his girlfriend to marry him, because he was barely at home. And whenever he was, he was sleeping for a few hours and then work again.
When they entered the house, Mary started to cry. “Edward! Adam! My boys are together again. You’re back!”
“He’s not back, mom. He just came to see you, but he’ll be back in his mansion when the night ends,” Adam said as he brought a glass of water to his mother.
Edward hugged to his mother, “I’m so sorry, mom. I’m sorry I didn’t believe you when you said you’d come back for us. I wish you could forgive me.”
Mary cried back. She said that she was sorry that she wasn’t able to provide a comfortable life for her sons. She apologized over and over again.
Then Mary asked that if Edward would like to spend the night with them, but Edward revealed that he was going to France for his new job. It was his last flight and he believed that fate intervened as Adam was in the flight too.
“I wish we could have found each other sooner… I’m sad that our time together was so short.” Mary said, as she was heartbroken.
Edward promised that whenever he was flying to the states, he would visit her. Adam was angry, he turned at him and said that he shouldn’t get her hopes high. “She doesn’t deserve to be heartbroken at her age. Get out!”
Few days later, while Adam was about to leave the house for work, he noticed a truck arrived and started to load furniture into the house across them. Then Edward came with his wife.
He told to Adam and his mother that he talked with his wife, and they decided to stay in the US. His adoptive parents supported his decision and they promised each other to stay in contact.
“I am sorry that I never got a chance to look for you, mom. I know I’ve made many mistakes in the past, but I hope you give me a chance to prove to you that I am not a bad son.” Edward started to cry.
Them Mary cried too as she opened her arms for her son to hug her. That day, Adam took a day off, and they spent a family time together where Edward introduced his wife, and Adam introduced his longtime girlfriend.
Edward helped his family as much as he can, and in a short notice, he helped Adam to start his own construction business. Few months later, Adam married Gemma, and he moved into a close house to his mother, and brother’s houses.
