George and Amal Clooney had a date, where they dined at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo in Lkae Como, Italy. The famous human rights lawyer was wearing a crotchet dress, which she received the backlash for.
The crotched dress was designed for Chanel’s Resort 2023, by Virgie Viard. Amal decorated her dress with her large silver earrings, and metallic silver heels. George Clooney was in his beige suit.
There were many comments regarding Amal’s wardrobe choice as:
“[Silly] for a serious lawyer.”
“Those patch pockets are a crime against this woman. Against all women!”
“Attacked by a tablecloth, still is tall and has cleavage.”
“It has pockets!? 🤩.”
“The tone of this dress is confusing. On the one hand, it’s giving cozy knit with pockets, and on the other, it’s an evening gown with sequins. She looks beautiful though.”

As there were many comments regarding the dress, crotched dresses were the trend during the summer of 2024. As the fashion experts stated, the trend was the inspiration from the 70s.
