Lina was shocked when she opened the door and see Daniel in front of her. He was there with a lawyer. When Lina asked what he was doing at her door, he told Lina that he was there for his son.
10-YEARS-AGO
Daniel came into Lina’s life with Adam, his three-year-old son from his previous marriage. Lina felt that Adam was like her own son, and she loved him with all her heart.
One day, she woke up to an empty bed. She thought Daniel was gone to shopping, or for a run. But she found a note on the nightdrawer. “I’m sorry, but I have to go.”
Then Adam came into her room. He told Lina that his daddy was gone, but promised to come back one day.
As years passed, Daniel never showed up. Social services got involved, and Lina worked hard to keep Adam in her life. She was the only mother Adam had known, and Lina loved him as her own.
After sleepless weeks, Lina managed to finish the paperwork and became Adam’s adoptive mother.
PRESENT DAY
Lina was shocked when she handed the papers from Daniel’s lawyer about Adam. She hired a lawyer to fight for Adam. Lina learned that Adam was the sole inheritor of his grandfather’s wealth. The old man recently passed away, and Adam was the only successor.
That was the reason why Daniel was after Adam.
At the court, Daniel’s lawyer tried to paint Daniel as a good man who wanted his son back.
When Lina’s lawyer, Judith, talked, she revealed the truth about inheritance Adam was named as the owner. She talked about how Daniel never called or sent a letter to Adam.
Then the judge turned to Adam, who was 13 at that moment. When Adam spoke, he said:
“I am living with my mother for the last ten years. She told me that my father left us and that she worked hard for the legal process over me. I’ve never knew a person who worked hard for me and loved me for no matter what. She loved me and take care of me despite we are not blood related.”
He turned to his father, “Mr. Matthews here is claiming to be my father, but he is no more than a fragment of a forgotten memory. I do not even remember him patting my head or giving me love. I would like to stay with my mother.”
