Jayden was on a plane to visit his grandparents. He was walking towards his seat. He noticed that a boy was sitting next to him. The boy was nervous as Jayden noticed. When he smiled towards the boy, he looked away. Then Jayden decided not to bother the boy.
When the plane was about to land, the boy gave Jayden $10 and a paper.
“Hello. My son, Bucky, is with autism. He might get nervous and he doesn’t like to talk. Please be kind towards him. The $10 is for your patience. My number is below, please contact me if he needs something. Thank you.”
Jayden’s words got stuck in his throat after he read the note. The boy was silently sitting. As Jayden got struck with the situation, he decided to contact to Bucky’s mother.
“Hi! I’m Jayden and I’m sitting next to your son. He is doing great so far. I just wanted to let you know. I will be there if he needs anything.”
Then the mother replied quickly.
“Thank you Jayden. He gets nervous when I’m not around him. Please tell him that I love him and waiting for him at the airport.”
Then Jayden turned to Buck and showed the text. After reading the message from his mother, Bucky got calmer. Then Jayden decided to talk with the boy and kept asking him simple questions.
“Do you like planes?”
The boy nodded.
“I love them.” Jayden said. Then he called the flight attendant and handed $10 over to the woman and asked for a snack, for Bucky.
When he handed the snack over, Bucky talked for the first time. “Thank you.”
Then, Bucky started to ask questions about how much time they left on the plane. Jayden calmly answered each question of Bucky until they landed.
When the plane landed, Jayden helped Bucky with his luggage, and walked with him until they found his mother. After a small conversation, they agreed on drinking a coffee together.
Few years later, that note wrapped around $10 was the reason for the love between Jayden and Mel.
