Emma was finding peace when she would visit her mother’s grave and place flowers on it. Each time she would visit, she would leave flowers on her mother’s and father’s grave.
Sometime later, she noticed that the flowers on her mother’s grave would be gone, while the flowers on her father’s grave would stay. She found it strange. She couldn’t give any meaning to this.
She made a plan. She was going to place the flowers, and watch from a safe point. She saw a woman above her mother’s grave, who were picking the flowers and throwing them into the trash can.
She confronted the woman and who angered her. The woman stated that she was cleaning up. As Emma was angry, she started to yell at the woman.
Then the woman asked, “You don’t know do you?”
Emma learned that she had a sister. Her mother had her from another man. She couldn’t believe the woman who claimed to be her sister. The woman stated that she was coming to her grave long before Emma started coming to.
“Believe what you want,” the other woman said and left.
The memory of her mother was not clean now in Emma’s mind. She couldn’t believe that her mother had another daughter. She was clearly not the person she thought. She then started to think about her new sister. She wanted to know how she was grown. Was she alone?
She then went to her mother’s grave and found her sister in there. She walked towards her and explained that she is understanding what she’s been through and that she wanted to get to know more of her.
As her sister was surprised, she was protective of herself. Her sister revealed that she didn’t want to hate her, but she also didn’t know what to feel about her.
“But it doesn’t have to be like that anymore.” Emma said to her sister. Then she learned her name, Casey. It was the first time Casey smiled to Emma, as she said her name.
That day, Emma took Casey to her home, and they talked for hours, dined together and spend the night together with their stories from their lives. They laughed, cried and hugged.
