KATE WINSLET TALKED ABOUT “THAT SCENE” IN “TITANIC”

It has been more than 25 years since Titanic was released. During an interview where Winslet was talking about her new movie, she was asked about the final moments of Jack and Rose from Titanic.

“Well that was quite an awkward tank,” Winslet shared. “To burst the bubble, it was waist height at that time … Leo I’m afraid to say was kneeling down. I shouldn’t be saying anyways, Jimmy Cameron’s gonna be ringing me,” she laughed.

“I was regularly like, ‘Can I just go for a pee?’” the actress said. “Then I get up, get off the door, walk to the edge of the tank, sort of 20 feet away and I literally have to fling my leg over and climb up and come and get back on the door again. It’s terrible.”

Because of the sound of the water, in those last minutes of the movie everyone were in the scene.

After many years, the TV show MythBusters tried to recreate the scene to see that if Jack would survive with climbing onto the door, next to Rose.

Later, James Cameron talked about the scene and revealed that for the sake of the movie, Jack needed to die no matter what.

“Maybe we screwed up and the board should have been a tiny bit smaller,” Cameron shared. “But the dude’s going down.”
