A man shared a story on Reddit’s r/offmychest subreddit. The widower shared a shocking story where he talked about a heart wrenching experience he had with the letter from his late wife.
The man revealed that his wife passed away 10 months ago, and she left him a letter before she passed away. The man revealed that he couldn’t read it until now. In the letter, his late wife revealed that she had an affair before their 4-year-old boy was born, and there was a high chance him not being the father.
“That there was a good chance my 4-year-old son isn’t mine because she had a drunk one-night stand with a stranger at her bachelorette party. Then fell pregnant soon after that, she couldn’t be sure who the father was because it happened only a few days before our wedding.”
The Redditor revealed that his wife didn’t got the guts to tell him the truth while she was alive, and decided to drop the news after her passing. Then the Redditor explained that he got the DNA test, and that it was true he was not the father indeed.
The man explained that it would have been better to live with the ignorance instead of knowing the truth, and that he has no idea what to do with the information he has now.
Despite the devastation the man has, the Redditor wrote, “This doesn’t change how I feel about my son. He’s my whole world and he’s innocent. But boy does it hurt. There’s so much going on in my head right now. I haven’t stopped crying. Thank god my son is at my parents place for the day. I’d hate for him to see me like this.”
