KATHRYN CROSBY, WIFE OF LATE BING CROSBY, PASSED AWAY

At the age of 90, the widow of Bing Crosby, famous actress Kathryn Crosby passed away. On the 20th of September, Kathryn closed her eyes permanently at her Hillsborough, California home, where her family were around her.

The family representative stated that Kathryn Crosby’s passing because of natural causes.

Crosby was born in 1933, Olive Kathryn Grandstaff in West Columbia, Texas. After she won a beauty contest, she had her chance with the Hollywood, and later became a huge name.

In 1953, she started her acting career with the name Kathryn Grant, who recently graduated from the University of Texas. In 1954, she had an interview on the set of “White Christmas” and found the love of her life, Bing Cosby.

In 1957, they got married. “We kept meeting each other, and then we’d plan to get married, and he would have a kidney stone or something dreadful like that,” Kathryn said in 2014.

“I hadn’t spoken to him for a year, and he wrote to me and asked me to go to dinner. I said, ‘Yes. I still love you. No. I won’t see you.'”

After their secret wedding, Bing’s driver Leo Lynn said, “Don’t you think you better tell the press? It’s a hot day, and they’re about to drive seven hours to Arrington!”

And then they let the press know of their marriage, and had a breakfast with them at the Sands Hotel. They had 30 years of age gap between them, but it was no problem for Kathryn. She was Bing’s second wife. Together, they welcomed three children, Harry Lillis III, Mary Frances, and Nathaniel.

“By the time we had courted, I knew I liked him very much, and he liked me very much,” Kathryn said.

“For our whole 20 years of married life Bing alternately implored and enjoined me to get organized. It was very much like ordering a government to reduce inflation.”

As Kathryn was a talented actress, she was also a registered nurse. She received her title back in 1963. She talked about her life in her autobiographies, “Bing and Other Things” and “My Life With Bing.”

In 1966, Kathryn returned to the stage with the Broadway play, “State Fair.” Later she had her own show in San Francisco in the 70s. Also, for 16 years, she hosted the Crosby National Golf Tournament.

After Bing, in 2000, Kathryn got married with Maurice William Sullivan, who passed away in 2010 after a car accident.
