Rose was at her therapist’s office. The man told her not to escape this year, as each Halloween she would shut her into her home without decorating her house. She would act if the house was empty to avoid children.
It has been three years since Rose celebrated Halloween, as her son was still alive then.
When Frank returned from his business trip, he was shocked to see their house decorated with Halloween spirit. He was happy to see his wife like that. He told Rosa that their son would be happy to see her smiling once again.
As the children had never visited Rose’s house before, they thought that it was a signal for trick or treat invitation.
The doorbell ranged, and Rose opened the door for the children. As the children smiled, “Trick or treat!”
Rose was shocked. The children were wearing the costumes she sewn for her late son, Dave.
After she gave the children some candies, she rushed back to her late son’s room and checked under the bed. Dave’s costumes were not in there.
She then noticed that most of her son’s belongings were gone. His shoe collection, toys, posters… Everything was gone.
She called her husband, who was in the living room and explained the situation to Frank. He was silent. Then he started to cry. He hugged to his wife and revealed the truth.
He visited a shelter one time, and saw these children. As they resembled Dave, he then gave Dave’s belongings. He told Rose that whenever he sees the boys in his son’s clothes, he is seeing Dave.
As Rose hugged to her husband, Frank kept revealing. He said to the children from the shelter to visit his house to surprise his wife, after he saw the decorations on the house.
Rose thanked to her husband. She then told him that it was a sign and that they should adopt the boy who looked exactly like their late son.
