As Heather Locklear became a huge name in the industry, she was starring in “Melrose Place.” Her appearances in The Return of Swamp Thing” and “The Perfect Man,” also rose her career.
Despite her success in her career, her private life caused her to suffer as she had two heartbreaking divorces.
She was first married to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee. They exchanged vows in 1986, and seven years later, they divorced in 1993.
Later, she found love with Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. They married in Paris, in 1994. They welcomed a daughter and eleven years of marriage later, they divorced.
Locklear had her daughter’s custody, and their assets got divided in between the former couple as their prenup was suggesting.
This divorce caused Locklear’s personal struggles to became public. While filming “Flirting with 40” in 2008, after her divorce, she was looking great. But in truth, she was dealing with addiction.
By her own decision, she checked on a treatment facility in Arizona. Cece Yorke, her publicist, shared that she chose on her own. “There was no intervention. She went in on her own. She wanted to feel better and get to the bottom of what was troubling her.”
After four weeks of treatment, she returned back to her life. Until 2018, she was going great.
She was arrested in that year for felony domestic violence and after her assault at officers.
After that, she returned to rehab. As some sources stated, her close circle and daughter Ava Sambora was taking the toll of Locklear’s addiction.
“She doesn’t want anybody to hold her accountable. She has no job, nothing to keep her accountable. This has been tearing up her family. It’s been an ongoing issue for many many years,” the source said.
After she struggled a lot, in April 2020, Locklear shared that she was sober for a year as she captioned her post as, “Hugs will come later! 1 year sober today!!!”
In her late 50s, she found love with her high school sweetheart, Chris Heisser. They were together while they were in Newbury Park High School together in 1979.
