Famous rapper Snoop Dogg, is more than just a musician. The iconic artist is a doting father and a proud grandfather. His wife is in the center of his life, whom he is with for almost three decades.
As fans of Snoop seeing his wife through the social media, they poured her with praising comments.
The support his wife, Shante Broadus, never left him, as she was there whenever Snoop needed.
Long before Snoop’s career started, Shante was there to support him. Their relationship started back in 1980s, while they were teens in Long Beach Polytechnic High School.
“I was there with him when he started all this,” Shante said.
In 1997, Snoop and Shante got married. The rapper shared that Shante is his best friend, and said, “One is that she always understood who I was and who I needed to become. And then, on the second reason is, her just being my backbone, my foundation, my support, my reality […].”
In 2004, the couple briefly separated and Snoop filed for divorce at the Los Angeles Superior Court.
“The only thing I want to say is Mr. Broadus hopes that the divorce can be as amicable as possible,” Snoop’s lawyer, Robert Nachshin said.
Sometime after their daughter Cori was diagnosed with lupus, Snoop and Shanti struggled together for their daughter. “Shante and I cried 1,000 times,” Snoop said. When it was 2008, the couple reconciled and renewed their vows.
“In relationships like this, it’s a rocky road in the beginning because success is new to both.”
“You learn as time goes by, ‘OK, you are in control. You run this, you run that, because I make bad decisions,'” Snoop continued and added, “She’s a great mother, a tremendous grandmother, an excellent wife, and a great friend.”
“I’ve got a strong wife with a strong backbone and a good heart—she’s loving and she’s caring, and we are meant to be together,” Snoop said.
“Family is everything. What makes me the happiest in my life right now is for my wife to be happy, and everybody in my family to be healthy, and to be on one accord, which is love.”
