WHY DID PAT SAJAK LEFT HIS SHOW AND HAD AN EMERGENCY SURGERY

For more than four decades, Pat Sajak hosted the “Wheel of Fortune.” As some health issues kept him away, Sajak decided to leave the show as he announced his retirement.

In 2019, Sajak had a life-threatening issue. After his morning run with his daughter, Maggie, Sajak suffered a terrible stomach pain. “I didn’t know what it was,” Sajak said. “But within two and a half hours, I was in surgery.”

A source shared that Sajak suffered from a blocked intestine, and later his blood pressure dropped. Doctors immediately took him under surgery to save Sajak’s life.

“They tried various drugs, but none of them worked until they gave me something that made me see beautiful pastels and lovely faces. After that, I wasn’t thinking about the pain anymore.”

After the surgery, Sajak made a quick recovery, but stayed away from his show for a while.

From 1981 to 2023, Sajak hosted the “Wheel of Fortune,” as he hosted the show for 41 seasons. As he announced his retirement, people were shocked.

“Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all.” Sajak shared from his X account.

“I’d rather leave a couple of years too early than a couple of years too late,” Sajak also said.

On the 7th of June, 2023, Sajak hosted the final episode of “Wheel of Fortune,” as he ended his journey.

“It’s been an incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes night after night, year after year, decade after decade,” Sajak said in the final episode.

When he talked about his co-host, Vanna White, “Vanna is as sweet and unassuming as she seems. We’ve seen a lot of changes in each other’s lives over the years, but we’ve always been there for each other.”

“Thank you all so very much. And goodbye.”
