For the last months, Molly’s neighbor’s children were cleaning the street on every Sunday.
One day, while Molly was dealing with her plants, she saw the mother of the children, Grace, and congratulated her for her children and how great they were.
She received a weird response. “Oh, yeah… thank you, they’re… good kids.”
Once, Molly offered Becky and Sam some lemonade, but they politely refused as they explained that they needed to be in somewhere.
Then she noticed. Sam wasn’t cleaning as he was placing something under the oak tree in front of Molly’s house. It was weird to see Sam like this. Then Sam stood up, and moved to the next house.
She waited until they were finished and went to check what was happening. There were coins under the leaves. It was weird, as why these children were doing this?
There were coins hidden everywhere. Under every scattered leaves, Molly was finding coins.
Later that day, she saw Grace stepping out of her car. Then she called out for her. Molly once again congratulated her about her children for cleaning up the street each week, and noticed that Grace was surprised when she heard that.
“Cleaning up the street? What do you mean?”
As Grace laughed after Molly explained what she had seen, Grace then explained that her children were on treasure hunt. She told Molly that the grandfather of Sam and Becky would hide some coins in the street, and that the children would hunt for them.
