Ben and Becca were ready to celebrate their first anniversary. She was waiting for two months to share the news with her husband, as she was pregnant. They were trying for a baby for that last six months and now she was pregnant and was waiting their anniversary to share the news.
She planned everything. She hired the restaurant where they had their wedding reception. They arranged everything. The romantic dinner, dimmed lights and soft music…
She went to the restaurant, and waited for her husband after the work. As hours passed, Ben didn’t arrive. Becca’s excitement turned into anxiety. She called Ben’s phone but couldn’t reach her husband.
Hours passed, and Becca decided to return to home. She was hoping to find her husband at home.
She saw from the window that the lights were on. She thought her husband forget the restaurant and went home.
When Becca opened the door, she called for Ben. There was no response. She then found an envelope on the desk, “FROM BEN” was writing on it.
When she opened the envelope, she was horrified with what she read. “Your grandma made me do this. Bye forever, Becca.”
She then went to her grandmother’s home which it was across the road. Becca asked what did her grandma told to her husband and caused him to leave her.
Her grandma Betty told Becca that Ben was not the right man for her. Becca then told Betty that she was pregnant, and that how could she do that.
“I’ve always wanted you to end up with someone more suitable. Someone on your level. Someone like Charlie.” Betty said.
“I don’t care about Charlie! He’s horrible!” Becca said, as she knew that Charlie was Betty’s best friend’s grandson.
Then Betty revealed what she said to Ben. “I told Ben to leave if he loves you, if he wouldn’t leave you, I told him that I will cut you out of the inheritance. To give you the best life, he chose to leave you.”
“I want you to understand Becca. I want the best for you, and Ben isn’t the best.”
“I don’t think I ever will. And I don’t think I’ll ever forgive you. I hate you,” Becca said as she left Betty’s house.
No matter how long she searched for her husband, she couldn’t find Ben. Years passed, her son got married, and Becca welcomed her own grandchildren. She was never fully happy, as she always waited for her husband to return.
