All Ashley could think of was her little daughter, Lily’s laugh. Her laughter would fill the whole house, where now it was silent. People were saying to Ashley that they would like to know if they can do anything. Can they bring Lily back? Of course not.
When Ashley returned back to her home from the funeral, she fixed her eyes in the yard. There was a huge tent.
In the tent, there was something covered in a blanket. She remembered how her little daughter Lily was covered in the hospital bed. She was devastated once again.
Then a golden retriever puppy lifted its head under the blanket. “What… what are you doing here?” Ashley asked in a whisper.
The puppy approached to Ashley as it was wiggling its tail. She started to cry, as she noticed a letter under the blanket.
It was her daughter Lily’s handwriting. Lily wanted her father Tom to get a puppy to her mother so she wouldn’t be that much sad after Lily was gone. She was sure that her mother would miss her and need someone to cuddle with. Lily wrote that the dog’s name was Daisy, and that she would love her as much as Lily loves her mother.
Ashley hugged to the letter and started to cry. Daisy was trying to climb onto her lap while Ashley was on her knees.
When Tom searched for his wife, he found Ashley in the tent, cuddling with Daisy. He couldn’t stop his tears too, as he hugged to his wife, and their new baby, Daisy.
